The Rusty Rainbow Oxheart tomato is a striking, heart-shaped heirloom celebrated for its complex flavor and exceptional beauty. Its rust-brown exterior—often accented with green or yellowish shoulders—hides a stunning interior marbled with shades of pink, orange, and green, creating a true “rainbow” effect when sliced. The dense, meaty flesh contains few seeds and offers a rich, sweet, fruity flavor with aromatic depth and a subtle hint of spice or tanginess, sometimes described as slightly tropical. Naturally low in acidity, it is gentle on the palate and well suited for fresh eating.

This indeterminate variety is highly productive, continuing to grow and set fruit throughout the season, with maturity reached in approximately 80–85 days. Thunder Mountain Longhorn Chile (Guizhou, China) is a striking heirloom variety known for its long, twisted, wrinkled pods that can reach 8–12 inches. Peppers ripen from green to deep red and offer a rich, smoky, slightly earthy flavor with a slow-building heat. Popular in traditional Chinese cuisine, especially for stir-fries, drying, and chili oils.

Pineapple tomatoes have a huge body with golden-orange and red marbled skin. Large 1 lb. Bi-color fruits are famous for their sweet and fruity low acid flavor. A beautiful tomato with a unique color of yellow on the outside and red streaks inside. The Pineapple tomato vines set fruit fairly early, and also ripen quickly. Mortgage Lifter is a famous heirloom beefsteak tomato variety celebrated for its enormous fruit size, rich flavor, and legendary origins during the Great Depression. It was developed in the early 1930s by Marshall Cletus “Radiator Charlie” Byles of Logan, West Virginia, who, despite having no formal plant-breeding training, spent six years hand-pollinating and crossing four large-fruited tomatoes, including German Johnson and other Italian and English varieties. He sold the resulting seedlings for one dollar each—a premium price at the time—and their exceptional productivity and popularity allowed him to pay off his $6,000 mortgage in just six years, giving rise to the name “Mortgage Lifter.” While other strains exist, such as the Estler Family strain from 1922, Charlie’s version remains the most well known. The plants produce massive pinkish-red, slightly ribbed beefsteak fruits that typically weigh 1 to 2 pounds, with occasional fruits reaching up to 4 pounds. The tomatoes are meaty with few seeds and offer a mild, sweet, low-acid flavor, making them especially prized for slicing, sandwiches, and fresh eating.
