HOW TO GROW RADICCHIO

PLANTING RADICCHIO:
- Radicchio is best grown in cooler temperatures, so depending on the USDA zone you're in, you may plant it in the spring, summer, or fall.
- They do best with temperatures ranging from 30-90F (-1-32C), but be wary of hot, summer days as this can kill the plant.
- Plant in soil with a pH of 7.5-8.0, with good drainage and adequate irrigation.
- Choose a spot with full sun, but if not, radicchio also tolerates shade.
- You can plant radicchio seeds directly into the ground or you can start seeds 6-8 weeks before the last frost indoors.
- Plant each plant 8-12 inches apart in rows.
- Water the plants twice a week – radicchios need constant irrigation to grow.
- Your radicchio plant should mature within 125-130 days.
RADICCHIO CARE:
- Keep an eye out on your plants as radicchios are highly susceptible to fungus, pests, and powdery molds.
- In areas where there is a large amount of rain especially, there is no need to water otherwise it could cause root rot.
