A cherished New England heirloom, Maine Yellow Eye beans offer a rich, creamy flavor often compared to cannellini or Great Northern beans—only better. Perfect for baked beans, hearty winter soups, or Southern-style dishes as a black-eyed pea alternative. They hold their shape beautifully when cooked, yet can be pureed into a smooth, dairy-free base for sauces, soups, and casseroles.

Originally developed in Kentville, Nova Scotia, this variety matures early and evenly. The tall, upright plants keep pods off the ground, making them ideal for hand or mechanical harvest—an excellent choice for market gardeners. While they can be enjoyed as fresh pods, the dry beans reach maturity in just 85 days.

Early Maturity: Alaska peas are one of the earliest maturing pea varieties, making them suitable for short-season areas. 

Heavy Yield: They are known for their prolific production of pods. 

Cold Tolerance: Alaska peas can withstand cooler temperatures, making them suitable for early spring planting. 

Disease Resistance: They are resistant to disease, wilt, and cold. 

Pod Appearance: The pods are pale green and straight, containing 5-8 smooth peas. 

Taste: While not the sweetest pea variety, Alaska peas are still delicious and suitable for cooking and freezing. 

Versatile: They can be used fresh, frozen, canned, or dried for soup peas. 

It presents a contained vegetation, the internodes are short, with a contemporary production that extends from the ground to the top of the plant. The crop cycle is 65 days. The pod measures cm. 18/20 in length and cm. 2 wide; it has a bright yellow color from the very beginning of its formation and maintains the same fleshiness of the later classic "Meraviglia di Venezia" variety for a long time, so as to resist over-ripening for a long time.

Climbing, with little yellow horns, slow variety, with golden yellow long, large, flat pod. straight and very long  pod. It needs to be supported by stakes and nets. Its pods are rich in protein, vitamin B, Calcium and iron.  SOWING: from March to mid-July in 80-130 cm distant rows using 100-120 kg/ha seed. Pick up occurs repetitively, starting 120-130 days after sowing.

SOWING: from March until the second week of July in rows at an interval of 80-130 cm, and with no interruption on the row, using 120-150 kg of seeds per hectare. Marconi A Grano Bianco: Pole bean variety. Pods are flat shaped and string less with slightly hooked pods 23 – 25 
cm long. Plant is a late crop variety with a white seed.

To be shelled, early dwarf, standing, high productive variety. Vigorous, 50-55 cm high plant, with 13-15 cm long and intense red with lighter cream colored striped pods. Its pods usually carrying 6 oval-shaped cream colored, streaked with red purple grains. It can be used fresh or for industry.  SOWING: Goes from March to mid July, in 50-70 cm distant rows, when temperature is over 10-12°C and the soil is sufficiently humid, using 120-150 kg/hectare seed.

Bush bean variety. Seed is round, large, buff and red mottled. Pods are a very good variety for home gardens as well as for freezing and canning.

This is the Roman type bean seen all over Italy in markets. Beans will grow to 10 inches and remain tender. You can begin picking them at 5-6 inches. Very meaty. Makes a wonderful bean salad. Like all pole beans, keep picking to encourage continued production. 65 days or so to harvest. A vigorous climber, it will need support: use trellis, tripods or single poles at least 7 feet tall. Pole beans are much more productive in a tight garden space over a longer period, than bush beans. Plant after soil has warmed up well, since seeds are not treated. Plant 3-4 seeds around base of each pole or 2 seeds every six inches for trellis. Thin to one/six inches for trellis, 2 plants for poles.
