Big Max pumpkins are large, round, pale to bright orange pumpkins known for their thick, yellow-orange flesh and ability to grow over 100 pounds. They are named for their impressive size, making them suitable for carving into large Jack-o'-lanterns, use in competitions, or for canning and pie fillings. Big Max pumpkins require full sun, fertile soil, and a long growing season of approximately 120 days to reach their full potential.  

Sorrel is a leafy green vegetable grown for its pleasantly tart, lemony flavor. It sometimes gets classified as an herb and sometimes as a vegetable. Either way, gardeners in the U.S. don't grow enough of it. Sorrel plants prefer the cool seasons of spring and fall, quickly bolting to seed as the weather heats up. The two most commonly grown species are garden sorrel (Rumex acestosa) and French sorrel (Rumex scutatus).

Sorrel plants have smooth, arrow-shaped leaves that grow from a center rosette. The plant will send up a tall flower stalk as the temperature warms, but it's best to remove this to promote leaf growth for a better harvest. The red flowers are rather insignificant whorled spikes, like rhubarb.

Sorrel only gets about 12 to 18 inches tall, although the flower stalks (if left on the plant) will get taller. It does spread out though, easily taking up 2 feet in width. Sorrel is typically planted in spring and has a moderate growth rate; young leaves are ready to harvest in a little over a month.

Meaty and thick, golden-orange skin with a mild flavor. A great choice for its low acidity and high Vitamin C content.

History: The Golden Jubilee was first introduced in 1943 by the W. Atlee Burpee & Co. which was established in 1876. After almost 150 years Burpee continues and has grown into a very large organization. Golden Jubilee is sweet, mild and meaty. Its mild flavor pairs well with other ingredients and it holds its orange color when cooked. An All American Selections winner in 1943.

Ridge Gourd: Hero is a high yielding photo insensitive hybrid variety of ridge gourd. Fruits are vigorous in growth and resistant to biotic and a biotic stresses. Fruit length is 40 – 45 cm and weight 250-300 g each. Plant harvesting starts around 40 – 45 days after sowing. Yield is 14 – 16 tons/acre.

A snow melon is a type of melon, a sweet, crisp muskmelon from Xinjiang, China, that is also known as the Chinese melon. It has a crunchy, firm texture and a flavor similar to a cross between a cantaloupe and honeydew melon, with a high sugar content that makes it very sweet and juicy. The outer rind is typically yellow or orange, though other varieties can have a smooth or netted rind in various colors, and the inner flesh can be orange, white, or coral.

Alyssum "Carpet of Snow" is a popular low-growing annual plant known for its profusion of tiny, white flowers that create a carpet-like effect. It's an easy-to-grow plant, offering a sweet, honey-like fragrance and is well-suited for rock gardens and borders. 

Marigolds germinate quickly, sprouting within a few days and blooming in about 8 weeks, making them easy to grow from seed. Sow seeds directly outside after all danger of frost, 1 inch apart and water thoroughly after planting.

Marigolds only need enough water to dampen the soil, and they only require watering about once every ten days. The soil should be allowed to dry out on the surface before watering. The base of the plant should receive the water, and the plant should not be watered from overhead.

Marigolds thrive in cool season, it is best to plant during spring. Marigolds can even handle the reflected heat and light of paved surfaces as long as they get regular moisture. Another fun fact, marigolds bloom better and more often in poorer soil!
