Straightneck squash is a cultivated variety of Cucurbita pepo grown as a type of summer squash that is usually yellow-colored. It is also known as yellow squash, though other squashes, such as crookneck squash, may also be known by that name.

This yellow squash has been the standard for squash for generations.

Uses

Tastes great served raw with dips or fresh in salads. Delicious when steamed or stir-fried. Wonderful when wrapped in foil and roasted on the grill. Wash fruits, vegetables and herbs thoroughly before eating.

Early prolific squash highly adaptable to many areas. Tastiest harvested when squash are 7" long or smaller

Early maturing variety. The vegetation period from germination to technical ripeness is 60-65 days. Rosette leaves Average height, is very dense. The leaves are large, dark green color, strongly corrugated, attractive appearance. The variety is valued for its intense regrowth after cutting the green mass. It is grown in the open field, in the film shelters and at home. Used for fresh consumption, and dried for processing of food.

Russian tarragon can be used fresh or dried in cooking, adding a subtle, sweet licorice flavor to dishes like salads, chicken, seafood, egg dishes, and soups. It also flavors marinades, dressings, and herb-infused vinegars and is used in some traditional Persian, Hungarian, and Armenian dishes, as well as a component of the popular Russian and Georgian carbonated drink, Tarkhun. However, note that Russian tarragon can break down faster than French tarragon, so it may need to be added later in the cooking process to preserve its flavor.  

Endive Frisée is a type of chicory that has exploded onto gourmet plates. The exotic plant resembles a lettuce that has gone horribly awry. With a pale green explosion of frizzy leaves it adds a frisky note to green salads.

Frisée or chicorée frisée is French for curly chicory. It also is sometimes called Italian curly chicory or French curly chicory. Now, frisée is not exactly the same vegetable that comes to market as chicory, curly chicory, and curly endive, although it is exactly the same plant, Cichorium endivia.

Grown in, and named after a municipality in northern Italy near Turin. Suitable for both summer and autumn cultivation, it has curly and strongly lobed leaves and a creamy-white self-blanching heart.

With a very large head, long mid-green leaves and a self-bleaching, creamy-white interior, the fullness of the head facilitates tying up for more intense blanching.

Popularised in the 1990s, Frisée often appears in mesclun and other salad mixes, because the green is extremely laborious and expensive to produce as a sole salad ingredient. It is generally served in loose chunks in salad to highlight its exotic feathered appearance and a small amount can go a long way.

While it can have a slightly bitter flavour, frisée is much milder than other varieties of endive such as radicchio or Belgian endive. Tie up for a week before harvesting to blanch.

Sugar Pie Pumpkins are the traditional pumpkin for making pumpkin pies. It is because of their sweet, fine grained, orange flesh which is often more firm and less stringy than their carving cousins. They are a smaller pumpkin that weighs 1.0-3.1 kg (2-7lbs) each and be 10-25cm (4-10”) around.

This Swiss Chard looks almost like rhubarb with it's red stalks and green leaves. It has a nice mild flavor, and is less bitter than other swiss chards. And it cooks up beautifully, with deep green leaves and beautiful red stalks and veins.

The Korean radish is similar to the daikon radish but is shorter, rounder and usually has a green shoulder.

Is Korean radish and daikon the same?

Compared to a Western radish, a Korean radish is generally much longer and bigger. ... Though similar in taste and look to daikon (Japanese radish), mu is generally shorter and rounder than daikon. It's also slightly green toward the top, whereas daikon is white throughout.
