Eruca sativa (syn. E. vesicaria subsp. sativa (Miller) Thell., Brassica eruca L.), also known as arugula or rocket, is a plant that can be eaten. It is a leaf vegetable with dark green, spiky, dandelion-like leaves and a strong, spicy, peppery flavor.
Arugula, also known as salad or garden rocket,is one of the nutritious green-leafy vegetable of Mediterranean origin. It is a small, low growing annual herb featuring dandelion like succulent, elongated, lobular leaves with green-veins.
Rocket is native to Western Asia and has been popular in Europe for centuries. This gourmet salad green adds a robust, peppery flavour to salads. Also delicious when mixed with other greens and cooked like spinach. Flowers are edible with nutty flavour. The long, dark green leaves develop into loose, open heads and thrive in both hot and cool weather. Grow for spring and fall crop.

LETTUCE

Nothing tastes better than a fresh, crisp salad made with lettuce straight from the garden. Head lettuces are lettuce varieties that form together like a cabbage such as Romaine and Iceberg. Home grown lettuce tends to be higher in flavor and nutrients than the store-bought variety, and can be very easy to grow yourself. Lettuce likes a lot of water and prefers cool growing conditions, as it can bolt in higher temperatures. Keep an eye on your lettuce plants during warmer weather, if the leaves are wilting, you’ll need to move them to a shady spot immediately. Growing nasturtiums near your lettuce can naturally help keep damaging aphids away.
