History: Originally introduced in Irkutsk, Siberia Russia. Regarded as a true northern variety and has excellent growing qualities suited for cooler climates.

Pineapple tomatoes have a huge body with golden-orange and red marbled skin. They show the same beautiful coloration on their interior flesh, which has a strong tomato aroma and boasts low acidity and few seeds with more solid, meaty flesh. This variety has an incredibly unique flavor as it is primarily sweet, but with a satisfying, and even surprising, citrus tang. Pineapple tomato plants bear heavy yields of fruit with individual tomatoes weighing between one and two pounds. As an indeterminate variety, Pineapple tomato plants will continue to grow and set fruit up until a frost. Pineapple is among the taller of tomato plants, often reaching eight or more feet high, hence staking or caging these plants is recommended in order to encourage healthy growth and to prevent garden sprawl.

Large 1 lb. Bi-color fruits are famous for their sweet and fruity low acid flavor. A beautiful tomato with a unique color of yellow on the outside and red streaks inside. The Pineapple tomato vines set fruit fairly early, and also ripen quickly. In mid-summer, they seemed to stop blooming, then they put on another flush of production in late summer/early fall. The fruit is very lovely when sliced, and has great flavor. One big slice of this tomato on bread with mayo makes a great summertime sandwich.

Mortgage Lifter is a famous heirloom beefsteak tomato variety celebrated for its enormous fruit size, rich flavor, and legendary origins during the Great Depression. It was developed in the early 1930s by Marshall Cletus “Radiator Charlie” Byles of Logan, West Virginia, who, despite having no formal plant-breeding training, spent six years hand-pollinating and crossing four large-fruited tomatoes, including German Johnson and other Italian and English varieties. He sold the resulting seedlings for one dollar each—a premium price at the time—and their exceptional productivity and popularity allowed him to pay off his $6,000 mortgage in just six years, giving rise to the name “Mortgage Lifter.” While other strains exist, such as the Estler Family strain from 1922, Charlie’s version remains the most well known. The plants produce massive pinkish-red, slightly ribbed beefsteak fruits that typically weigh 1 to 2 pounds, with occasional fruits reaching up to 4 pounds. The tomatoes are meaty with few seeds and offer a mild, sweet, low-acid flavor, making them especially prized for slicing, sandwiches, and fresh eating.

Mexico Midget

This south of the border favorite continues to always prove its value as a salad tomato.  These tiny red cherry type fruits have big heirloom flavor and are sure to surprise your taste buds. The plant gets overloaded with trusses of 1/2" fruit that weigh it down. Needs staking.

The original seeds were collected in Mexico by Barney Laman in the 1990s. He brought them home to North America and grew the plants and found them to be the same addictive luscious flavor he had found in the wild.

Jalapeno Traveler

he sturdy and vigorous 3’ tall plants produce a continuous crop all season. The fruits are conical 3-1/2- 4” long with thick bright green flesh and grow well at both high and low elevations.  A great, reliable variety that produces large peppers with consistent medium heat.

They taste best when allowed to fully ripen to red but are great green as well. Chop up and add to salsas or eat one alongside your sandwich. Capsicum annuum (80 days)

Scotch Bonnet Orange

Orange Scotch Bonnet - Heirloom

These attractive orange hot peppers have a surprising amount of heat and a wonderful aroma. Their unique taste is required for authentic jerk sauce. Jerk is a way of cooking that originated in Jamaica when meat is rubbed with a very sharp spice mixture called Jamaican Jerk spice. It is closely related to the habanero, but with a sweeter flavor and stouter shape. 

The pods are 1-1/2" wide and 1-1/2" long and have a citrus-like flavor with a lot of heat. They have smooth waxy skin and four globular ridges at the bottom that aren't quite bonnet-like. The peppers mature from green to bright orange on very productive 24" tall plants.  Capsiucum chinense (90 days)

The Sangram Sri Lanka pepper is a slender, pointed chili known for its vibrant color transition from green to bright red when fully ripe. It typically grows 5–8 cm long with smooth, glossy skin and a slightly curved shape. This variety is popular in Sri Lankan cuisine, valued for its bold heat and slightly fruity, sharp flavor that enhances curries, sambals, and stir-fries.

Approximately 50,000 – 100,000 Scoville Heat Units

This places it in the medium-hot range—similar to a cayenne but often perceived as a bit sharper and more immediate in heat.

Ideal for fresh use, drying, or making hot sauces and chili pastes.

The Malagueta pepper is small, typically 1-2 inches long, and has a conical shape that tapers to a point. It ripens from green to a bright red.

It has a fruity aroma and a flavor profile that is described as sweet, citrusy, and slightly bitter.

The Malagueta pepper is known for its intense heat, with a Scoville heat unit rating between 60,000 and 100,000. 

Usage:

It's a staple in Brazilian, Portuguese, and Mozambican dishes, often used in sauces like piri piri. It's also used to season meats, poultry, and vegetables.

The plant is bushy and dense, growing to about 2-3 feet tall, and produces many small peppers. 

Related Names:

In Brazil, smaller peppers may be called "malaguetinha," while larger ones are "malaguetão,"

Red smooth 3" plum shaped fruits produce well the entire season. It is tart and juicy making it a fantastic salad tomato.

History: A truly black cherry tomato that is sweet, delicious and irresistible. Aaron Whaley developed this variety to create a plant which was superior and more uniform than Black Cherry. The Chocolate Cherry tomatoes pick easily from the stem and are produced in abundance on tall plants.
