Oriental Mosaic, Chinese Red Noodle, Yard Long Pole Bean, Red Bean, Stringless

Lavender, pink, and mint colors blend together on these gorgeous long pods. They have a more dense texture and intense bean flavor than green beans An excellent choice to use in an edible ornamental garden on a trellis, where you can watch the beautiful flowers grow before your eyes into pods. Begin harvesting at 10-12”, before pods plump up; if you do miss some the mature beans can be shelled then cooked like peas.

Germination: 4-10 days

Germination Temperature: Optimum soil temperatures are 75-85ºF

Seed Sowing Depth:1” deep

Outside Sowing: After the last frost with soil temperatures above 70ºF.  Sow 3- 4” apart for trellis/pole growth. Planting in soil under 60ºF results in poor germination.

How much does a packet plant:10-12 foot single row

Harvest: Before the seeds bulge and beans snap easily. Pick continually every 2-3 days to prolong production.

Tips: Grow in light, well-drained soil, provide adequate, even moisture, especially at flowering time. Dry soil can result in low yields and fibrous pods. Do not over-fertilize with nitrogen which results in a surplus of foliage and low, delayed pod growth.

Green Bean, Harvester Bush Bean, Mangiatutto

Also known commonly as Green Beans, Harvester Bush Beans are a staple to any meal. These beans are also often called snap peas or string beans. They are one of the most common vegetables grown, and with good reason. These seeds sprout fast and grow to maturity quickly as well. The Harvester variety of bush bean grows in the shape of a bush, and therefore does not need a pole or support to flourish. The Harvester variety is a hardy plant and is resistant to many of the most common bean diseases. Plants are rich with nutrients so they are an excellent addition to a compost after the final harvest.

Laxton's Progress No.9 Shelling Bush Pea, Pisello Nano, English

Highly Productive, Easy To Grow, Classic Shelling Pea
This is the leading large-pod home garden shelling pea. A dwarf variety, Progress #9 needs no staking and is easy to grow. Great flavor and quality.
Harvesting: Shelling peas should be harvested when the pods are plump, about 3 weeks after flowering. Peas that are too mature are tough and will cause the plant to stop producing; therefore, harvest regularly when pods are at their peak. Use scissors to harvest or hold vine with one hand and pick the pods with the other; vines are fragile.

Stringless, Edible, Snow Pea, Southeast Asia

Stringless, Edible, Snow Pea, Southeast Asia

Snow peas are a good source of vitamins B1, B2, B3, C and K (important for helping your blood to clot). They are an excellent source of dietary fibre and contain folate.
Doubly borne pods measuring 8-10 cm (4-5”) long and 2 cm (1”) wide. This sweet and tender pea has multiple disease resistance and is very prolific. It grows well in our northern climate. They like to produce early so plant in April as soon as the soil can be worked. Plant 1 cm (1/2”) deep and 4 cm (2”) apart. Even though they are a dwarf variety they could still use some support. Easy to pick. Harvest continually to encourage further yields. Resistant to: Powdery Mildew, Fusarium Wilt, Pea-Enation Mosaic Virus, Pea Streak Virus.   65 days.   15g/Approx.
Snow peas and sugar snap peas have similar qualities because both belong to the legume family.
Confusingly, the French name, mangetout — meaning “eat all” — is often used for both.
However, though they’re closely related, they’re still two separate varieties.
Snow peas have been cultivated for centuries.
They’re sometimes referred to as Chinese pea pods, as they’re said to have originated from Southwest Asia.
Snow peas have a flatter pod than sugar snap peas and contain very small peas. In fact, most of the time, they’re harvested before the peas have fully developed in the pod.
Before eating, you generally remove a tough string along the edge of the pod.
Like sugar snap peas, snow peas are members of the legume family, but they’re the plant of the Pisum sativum var. Saccharatum species.
As they can withstand frost and snow, snow peas are generally available year-round, though their peak season is spring through the beginning of winter.
Some people believe that the common name “snow peas” stems from their ability to deter harsh winter conditions.
Snow peas are a slightly tender — yet crisp — sweet pea.
Sugar snap peas are also tender yet crisp but tend to have a sweeter flavor profile, as they’re crossed with the garden pea.

Maine Yellow Eye Bush Bean Seeds, Golden Wax Bush Bean, New England, White/Brown Seed

A cherished New England heirloom, Maine Yellow Eye beans offer a rich, creamy flavor often compared to cannellini or Great Northern beans—only better. Perfect for baked beans, hearty winter soups, or Southern-style dishes as a black-eyed pea alternative. They hold their shape beautifully when cooked, yet can be pureed into a smooth, dairy-free base for sauces, soups, and casseroles.

Originally developed in Kentville, Nova Scotia, this variety matures early and evenly. The tall, upright plants keep pods off the ground, making them ideal for hand or mechanical harvest—an excellent choice for market gardeners. While they can be enjoyed as fresh pods, the dry beans reach maturity in just 85 days.

Sugar Anns AAS Winner, Sugar Snap Pea Seeds

Sugar Ann Pea is an early-maturing snap pea known for its sweet, tender pods and compact growth. Plants produce crisp, bright-green pods about 3 inches long that are perfect for fresh eating, salads, and light cooking. Cool-season hardy and high yielding, it’s ideal for small gardens and containers.

Snap peas, or sugar snap peas, are basically a cross between garden peas and snow peas. The whole pod is edible and they have a crunchy flavor and sweet taste.

One of the best features of Sugar Ann is its earliness, up to 2 weeks earlier than comparisons. Its plump, edible pods are very sweet. The short, compact growth habit of Sugar Ann makes it ideal for urban gardeners with limited space who were previously unable to grow snap peas. The peas grow on a compact, 18-inch-high bush and can be grown with or without support. Remove string from pods before cooking.
